The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has designated the month of January as Radon Action Month.

Radon is a naturally-caused, odorless and tasteless radioactive gas, which can be present in air or your water supply. Radon can increase the risk of cancer if the levels in your home exceed the recommended levels as outlined by the EPA. In fact, the EPA says that Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers and the second leading cause of lung cancer in America.

The EPA has outlined four steps for homeowners to take action against Radon this month. The first step is to test your home for radon.
